Welcome to the Squamish Men's Amateur 2025
Information for the 2025 Men’s Amateur
Registration
Players must register at the entrance to the Club on Saturday (Proshop side by the ball machine). Registration for the morning draw will begin at 6am and for the afternoon flight it will begin at 10:15am
If you did not already pay to enter the ‘Skins’ competition at time of submitting your entry, players will still have the option to purchase an entry at time of registration ($40). Please bring cash if wishing to enter this ‘game of chance’.
At registration you will receive your tee gift as well as your meal vouchers and two Phillips Brewing beer tickets (thank you Phillip’s Brewing !) that are redeemable at the ‘turn’ (10th Tee ‘Birdie’ Cabin) as well as in the Restaurant.
Tickets for a 50/50 draw will be available for purchase at registration and later in the day out on the patio and by the practice green. The draw will take place mid-morning on Sunday. Please bring cash for purchase. Proceeds will be donated to the Sea-to-Sky Hospice Society.
As with last year, we will be having two flights with a Gross and Net component to each. Prizing will be equally distributed over the two flights. The flights are named in honor of two past life members of the Squamish Valley Golf Club, Mr. Dan Rourke and Mr. Bill Galley. For overall honors it will be the lowest Gross & Net score.
Operating Hours
The Proshop and Range will open at 6am on Saturday and Sunday.
The Restaurant will open at 630am on Saturday and Sunday for coffee and muffins. Breakfast will be available from 7am until 11am on Saturday, and from 7am until 10am on Sunday.
Meal vouchers will be redeemable from 1130am on Saturday, with the Saturday evening dinner available from 4pm.
On Sunday, meal vouchers will be redeemable from 11am until 7pm.
Range
Range balls will be complimentary and will be down on the range.
Tee Times
It is the players responsibility to be on time to the 1st/10th tee. The starter will distribute scorecards on the tee. It is suggested that you be at your designated tee in time for you to observe the group in front of you tee off. We will not be announcing players to the tee. Golf Genius Live Scoring will be used so please download the app prior to playing on the weekend.
The resort town of Whistler is up the road from us and weekend traffic on the highway can be busy. Please plan accordingly.
A full redraw will be done for Sunday based on Gross Scores. The draw will be emailed to the competitors as well as being posted on the website. Please be patient in waiting for the Sunday draw. This year’s event is fully subscribed and Saturday’s final groups will likely not be off the course with scorecards handed in until 6:30pm. The completed Sunday draw will likely be out by 8:30/9pm on Saturday evening.
Completion of Round
Upon completion of the round please compare scores with your Marker’s score, sign your scorecards and then hand them over to the SVGC volunteers at the SVGC tent by the 9th and 18th Green. Players do not have to calculate their scores but please help the process by keeping everything legible. If an error is made, cross out the score and write the correct one neatly underneath.
Saturday Afternoon Putting Competition
